Class Names
TKKM o Te Rotoiti akomanga have been named according to the history of the area.
Matawhaura
Is the name of the maunga (the highest point in the area) that is located on the eastern end of Lake Rotoiti that the local iwi of Ngati Pikiao pepeha to. For this reason, our senior class, years 6, 7 and 8 is referred to as Matawhaura.
Haroharo
Is the hill range behind Te Waiiti marae. Our middle year class of years 4 and 5 is called Haroharo.
Pateko
Is the name of the small island on Lake Rotoiti. Consequently our junior class of years 1, 2 and 3 is named Pateko.
