I Rotoiti, ehara mātou i te wāhi ako mātauranga noa iho; he whānau mātou. Ko tā mātou kaupapa matua he whakarato i tētahi taiao e kore ai a Te Aho Matua e waiho hei tuhinga noa iho, engari hei mea ora.
Ahakoa he mema whānau koe, he tauira pea, he manuhiri rānei e ako ana mō tō mātou kura, ka tono atu ahau ki a koe kia tūhuratia tō mātou wāhi me te kite i te oranga ora o tō mātou kura e mahi ana.
Mā te mahi tahi, ka tipu tonu tātou i ngā kaiārahi o āpōpō, e ahu mai ana i ngā tikanga o inanahi.
It is a privilege to welcome you to our kura. As Tumuaki, I am honored to lead a kura that stands as a bastion for our reo, our tikanga, and the limitless potential of our tamariki.
My journey in education has spanned 33 years, with 25 of those dedicated to the role of Tumuaki within the Kura Kaupapa Māori movement. Throughout these decades, my philosophy has remained immersed in the conviction that when our children are secure in their identity as Māori, they can achieve excellence in any field they choose to pursue.
At Rotoiti, we are more than just a place of academic learning; we are a whānau. Our mission is to provide an environment where Te Aho Matua is not just a document, but a lived reality.
We strive to:
- Foster Te Reo Māori as the primary heartbeat of our daily interactions.
- Cultivate Leadership (Rangatiratanga) by empowering students to take pride in their heritage.
- Ensure Academic Excellence through a curriculum that honors both traditional knowledge and modern innovation.
- Strengthen Whanaungatanga, recognizing that the success of the child is inseparable from the support of the home and the hapū.
Education is a lifelong voyage. Whether you are a current whānau member, a prospective student, or a visitor learning about our kura, I invite you to explore our site and see the vibrant life of our kura in action.
Together, we continue to grow the leaders of tomorrow, grounded in the traditions of yesterday.
Nāku iti noa, nā
Matua Para Meha
